It has never been a secret that I was going to do something with design when I grew up. Throwing themed birthday parties, creating extravagant dress up games with friends, and covering anything I could get my hands on with glitter and stickers; I'd say my path in event planning was inevitable. With 15+ years of Hospitality experience and a degree from Johnson and Wales University in Pastry Arts. I've worked every corner of the industry; from a large family owned bakery in Providence, Rhode Island to central Vermont where I was the pastry chef for The Mist Grill in Waterbury. After a couple of years decorating wedding cakes out East, I took a trip to Columbus Indiana and stumbled into a catering manager position. It was with this new job that I discovered my love of planning a great party and that working one-on-one with a client was far more rewarding then being stuck in a hot kitchen cooking for it! I added weddings to my resume on a chance encounter with the owners of The Inn at Irwin Gardens and I've never looked back! After almost two decades of work I have been a Pastry Chef, a Catering Director, Wedding Cake Decorator, Venue Coordinator, and dabbled in hotel management. All of these positions and experiences now give me a detailed insight into the field of event planning as a whole and it enables me to help my clients know and get what they need for their special events. Whether it's a small dinner party in your home or a ceremony and reception for 400 guests, AWF Events has the ability to ensure that your vision comes to light with personalized service, details, and experience.
